Testimonies

Rachel Micmillan

"As a single mother living in housing with no income, I was overwhelmed by the thought of giving birth without support. Then I found Jenette, and she changed everything for me. She didn’t just provide doula services—she gave me compassion, strength, and unwavering encouragement when I needed it most. She supported me through every step of my pregnancy and labor, all without asking for payment. But for what she has done for me, no amount of money could ever repay her. Jenette’s heart for mothers, her knowledge, and her faith-filled presence made me feel empowered and cared for in a way I never expected. I will forever be grateful for her kindness and the gift of her support."

Jenette isn't just a birthing doula—she is beyond nurturing, a wealth of knowledge, and a source of empowerment for women embarking on the profound experience of childbirth. She provided us dedication & personalized care. Throughout my pregnancy, as a doula, she took the time to understand my hopes, expectations, and aspirations for childbirth. From prenatal consultations to continuous labor support, Jenette’s presence and calming demeanor gave me the support I needed which helped tremendously with a successful and smooth labor. What sets Jenette apart is the holistic approach to birth support. She seamlessly blends evidence- based practices with emotional nurturing, creating a space where I felt empowered to make informed decisions about my birth plan. Whether it was discussing pain management techniques or simply lending a supportive hand during labor, her doula expertise and compassion were invaluable and a blessing. Moreover, Jenette’s services didn’t just end at birth—she extended care into the postpartum period, offering guidance on breastfeeding, emotional wellness, and adjusting to life with a newborn. This continuity of care exemplifies Jenette’s genuine commitment to supporting families beyond childbirth. In retrospect, choosing her as our doula was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. To any expectant mother seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable birth partner, I wholeheartedly recommend Jenette.

Deciding to use Jenette as our doula was the best decision we made before having our third baby! She is someone who is kind, caring, calm, knowledgeable, honest and very loving. During the visits with her she would listen to all my concerns and if she didn’t have the answer right then, she always came back later after doing well rounded research on the topic. When I was in labor her demeanor was calm, in tune with what my body was doing and very alert to what was going on. She was checking in on me physically but also looking out for me spiritually as well. I truly could not recommend anyone better! She took such wonderful care of our family during the pregnancy, labor and after birth was diligent about checking in on us. You would be blessed to have her as your doula!

Shannon Diaz

This was my first birth, and my husband and I were so excited—but also a little unsure of what to expect. From the moment we connected with Jenette, she provided us with everything we needed to feel prepared and confident. Her knowledge of hospital policies and procedures was invaluable, and she constantly educated us so we could make informed decisions.

During labor, she was a steady, calming presence, supporting both me and my husband every step of the way. I truly don’t know how we could have done it without her. Her guidance, reassurance, and care made all the difference, and we are beyond grateful. I look forward to having her by our side again for our next birth!

Kenya Lewin

After having 3 hospital deliveries, deciding to have a home birth for our 4th child was a major change of pace for my husband and I. There were many times during my previous medical experiences that I felt my healthcare providers did not have the patience to get to know me, let alone listen to my concerns or honor my beliefs. Many of my interactions were very rushed, disorganized, cold and mechanical. When I began my prenatal journey with Jenette, I immediately knew the experience would be different. During our first visit, she really took the time to get to know me and assess what my and my husband's needs were. I liked the emphasis on him being the decision-maker; usually husbands are treated as an afterthought or a random bystander in the hospital, so it felt good for his input to be considered and respected. Once we got to know each other, I was given detailed instructions, and a thorough explanation of the home birth process. As a former healthcare professional, I felt pretty competent about the clinical process of childbirth, however, as a babe in faith, I was not as experienced on the spiritual side. Jenette has very astute spiritual discernment, which was helpful when I couldn't exactly understand what I was going through in my mind. Any time I was struggling in an area spiritually, she had scriptures or website links prepared along with actionable steps. She truly has a gift for being caring without overbearing, and she is empathetic and patient, yet firm. When it came to giving birth, Jenette was right there, helping me relax, guiding me through each contraction, and allowing me to deliver while talking to Our Father which was an incredible experience I will never forget. During the postpartum period, Jenette was very helpful with laundry and housekeeping, which was a lifesaver! I thank Yah for bringing this sister into our path to assist us, she is truly in her calling. I highly recommend her!
